Refocusing Christmas
Refocusing Christmas
“Be cheerful with joyous celebration
in every season of life.
Let your joy overflow!”
Philippians 4:4 (TPT)
in every season of life.
Let your joy overflow!”
Philippians 4:4 (TPT)
Christmas time. “It's the most wonderful time of the year!”
Or at least, that is what the song says. But is it really?
As Christians, Believers in Jesus, we have more reason to celebrate and be filled with joy all year round than any other people group. And especially at this time of the year! Because the reason for our celebrating comes from what Jesus ultimately did at the Cross and the Resurrection...but neither of those events would have ever happened if He had not first come to the earth as a human! And in God's perfect wisdom He chose to come humbly in the form of a helpless, innocent baby.
And yet...so many people around this time of year are hurting, struggling emotionally, and do NOT consider this the 'most wonderful time of the year'. Typically, this is because we are separated from loved ones for one reason or another, and of course, that is quite common with men in prison. However, I have known people who were NOT alone, being surrounded by family and friends, and yet still battled discouragement and depression during the holidays. Why is that? Why is it SO COMMON...even among those of us who have a knowledge of and a relationship with Jesus?
I believe the reason for this is that our enemy does NOT want us to put ANY of our focus and attention on Jesus; not the Gift He became for us, and definitely not the sacrifice He made on our behalf! Our enemy will use ANY tactic or trick he can to distract us from the REAL purpose of Christmas! This is why we also have the over-hyped, over-marketed and commercialized "Christmas themed-everything" during the "holidays". It is no accident that Christmas has become, filled with all sorts of things that have NOTHING to do with Jesus! Such as Christmas trees, colored lights, stockings, wreaths, mistletoe, building snowmen, Santa, reindeer, the Grinch, elves, toys, presents, jingle bells, holly, poinsettias, red and green decorations, eggnog, a wide variety of holiday foods, etc...)
Now, personally I love ALL of those things! I enjoy all of these things that tend to make this time of year fun & festive! I love the nostalgia that sweeps over me when I see the decorations, hear the holiday music, smell the familiar fragrances, taste the special 'once-a-year' flavors... But if I am honest I know NONE of it has anything to do with Jesus!
Christmas is about Jesus willingly stepping off of His throne in Heaven to come to a sin-filled world...and then eventually laying His life down to rescue all of us and restore our relationship with God and the destiny He created us to have as His children!
This reminds me of a classic, kid's animated movie. I bet most of you know it.
The scene: a boy tells his friend, "I think there must be something wrong with me...Christmas is coming, but I'm not happy. I don't feel the way I'm supposed to feel."
The friend's sister then chimes in, "I know how you feel about all this Christmas business, getting depressed and all that. It happens to me every year. I never get what I really want. I always get a lot of stupid toys, or a bicycle, or clothes, or something like that."
Later, out of frustration the first boy cries out, "Isn't there ANYONE who knows what Christmas is all about?"
That's when the boy's friend finally speaks up and says, "Sure...I can tell you what Christmas is all about."
And he then quotes the 2nd chapter of Luke and the story of the birth of Jesus, concluding with, " 'And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.’ THAT’S what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown!"
During this time, it will be easy to allow the enemy to whisper lies of discouragement into our ears. He is subtle and he has been doing it for a LONG time.
I know...I feel it too.
But we must not forget the Truth about the REAL reason for Christmas.
It has nothing to do with all of the surface-level wonderful activities, and traditional elements of what we have come to accept and except as being "Christmas". Even the nice-sounding, sentimental statements.
"Christmas is about giving."
"Christmas is about family."
"Christmas is about being kind to one another and spreading good cheer."
Those sound good and may be well-intentioned, but they are wrong…and they confuse us.
(And it is intentional.)
Christmas is about ONE thing. Actually, it is about one PERSON: Jesus!
It is NOT about you and I giving gifts to each other.
Christmas is about recognizing and remembering the irreplaceable Gift Jesus became when the Heavenly Father sent Him to our world!
The more you and I return our focus, our attention, our hearts to JESUS...at ALL times, during every season…and especially during the holidays, the better prepared and equipped we will be to ignore and endure the lies of the enemy which so easily entangle our hearts and discourage us!
I know Philippians, the letter to the Christians in Philippi that the Apostle Paul wrote, is NOT the typical reading during Christmas time. However, when so many of us (myself included) are struggling with feeling down, discouraged, or depressed chapter 4 of this book provides some excellent encouragement! Keep in mind…Paul wrote this from a prison cell!
“Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let your joy overflow!”
-- Philippians 4:4 (The Passion Translation)
After this verse, Paul went on to say:
“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell Him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ. Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising Him always.” -- Philippians 4:6-8 (TPT)
A few verses later Paul adds:
“…I have learned to be satisfied in any circumstance. I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.” -- Philippians 4:11b-13 (TPT)
I think in order for us to combat the negative emotions properly and effectively during the Christmas season, as well as all year long, we need to be BELIEVING correctly! And to do that more easily we should be applying the things mentioned in these verses:
1) Choose joy
2) Do NOT worry
3) Pray & talk to God
4) Think on the positive things God has done and Who He is
5) Learn to be satisfied in Him even when (or maybe, more appropriately, “especially when”) everything else around us is NOT the way we would like it to be!
And one other thing, which in my humble opinion affects MOST of us when it comes to ‘believing correctly’…yes, even those of us who have been in church and heard that ‘Jesus is the reason for the season’ our whole lives. When we talk about the vast majority of the ‘things’ we do around the holiday that have nothing to do with Jesus, it is important to realize it affects us more than just being a simple distraction. In other words, keeping JESUS at the center and focus of Christmas is vitally important to our spiritual life and health, which affects every other aspect of our lives!
Now imagine if the following happened to you…
You show up to YOUR birthday party and hundreds of friends and family are gathering to celebrate YOU. They all arrive with various sizes of gifts wrapped in colorful paper, ribbons, and bows and start piling them up into a big mountain of presents. After having cake and singing “Happy Birthday”, they start passing the gifts out to each other. You sit in a chair smiling, waiting with joyful anticipation for them to start handing your birthday gifts to you. But instead, to your shock and dismay they begin opening the gifts themselves. They turn to each other, showing off what they opened and start thanking each other for the thoughtfulness and love that went into each of the gifts.
Meanwhile, you are sitting their being virtually ignored. Nobody brings you a present. And then some older, wise adult in the family gets everybody’s attention and says, “Let’s not forget to say thank you to the birthday boy for having a birthday and giving us the opportunity to enjoy this spirit of giving and love and light and family!”
You think maybe he is then going to finally pull out YOUR birthday present from its hiding place behind the couch, but instead he pulls out a candle and suddenly everyone is holding their own little candle. He then says, “Let’s all light our candles and sing quietly in honor of the birthday boy for being born on this day years ago!”
How would that make you feel?!
When we celebrate Christmas each year, even as Christians at church, are we bringing Jesus genuine gifts of love and worship? Or are we only offering Him lip service while we give gifts wrapped in cheap paper to each other instead?
Please understand I am not saying ANY of this from a position of pride, elevated above pain, struggles, difficulties, and suffering! On the contrary, I personally have been facing some very frustrating, challenging, humiliating and just outright awful circumstances for almost a decade, and so for me…Christmas time has NOT been “pleasant, happy, enjoyable” during all of these years! So, what I have been saying in all of this is aimed right at the center of my own heart as well! Those verses in Philippians brings conviction to me as well. Yet, they also bring me hope! And I pray they will for you, too!
Thank you for reading this! May this find you humbly choosing to let the joy of the Lord be your strength!
Merry Christmas and God bless!

a Song for the Hurting at Christmastime
a Song for the Hurting at Christmastime
A few years ago, Timothy Bariteau, one of our staff members, wrote a song, both for himself and anyone else that may need a way to express their pain at being separated from those they love during Christmas time.
Take a listen to the song and if it blesses you and you know someone else that may need to hear it, please SHARE it with them, too! And if you are willing to SUBSCRIBE to Timothy's YouTube channel (@GraceFallout), that would really bless and encourage him!

The Importance of Giving!
The Importance of Giving!
“Give generously and generous gifts will be given back to you,
shaken down to make room for more.
Abundant gifts will pour out upon you with
such an overflowing measure that it will run over the top!
The measurement of your generosity
becomes the measurement of your return.”
Luke 6:38 (TPT)
Getting something in return should never be our motivation to give.
However, Jesus does say when we give generously blessings will come back to us.
It's all about the purity of our heart's motivation when we give!
There are SO MANY different angles to look at this verse,
and this could spark countless discussions on similar topics:
giving, trust, jealousy, blessings, lack, need, provision, thankfulness, obligation, charity,
generosity, selfishness, tithing, money, stewardship, and on, and on, and on...
For now I just want to take a quick moment and
THANK EACH ONE OF YOU who has given in various ways to our ministry!
Whether that was a financial gift, the gift of your prayers,
the gift of your time in serving at one of our events, etc...
We've said it before, but it really is true:
This ministry and all the good it does could NOT even exist
if YOU weren't willing to make sacrifices to give!
So, once again, I say "THANK YOU!"
Recently, I asked our board members if they would answer this question:
"Why do you serve on KB's Board...what does this ministry mean to you?"
Here is how two of our board members, Dave and Gloria Kok, answered this question...
"We have been involved with Brothers in Blue, Women at the Well,
and Livingstone Prison Church for a few years.
Our prayer was, “Lord, is there MORE you want us to do?”
That’s when we were asked to be on the KB Board.
Being on the board gives us the ability to help make decisions,
but more importantly to get to know people: board members, community people,
and most of all the men that are housed there at KB!
And it also gives us the ability to help in ways God directs us to help.
Being on the board has challenged us in many ways and blessed us in many ways, as well!
Knowing God more and knowing He loves us all equally is the goal!
Matthew 22:37-39 says,
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the first and greatest commandment, and the second is like it:
Love your neighbor as yourself."

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
The Importance of Giving Thanks
Psalm 69:30
“Then I will praise God's name with singing,
and I will honor him with thanksgiving.”
I was talking with one of the guys today and he mentioned the polygraph he is scheduled to take in a couple days. This is a lie detector test that many of the men must take as often as every 3 months. The anxiety for most men is extremely high as they think about the consequences of failing a poly. It could mean a trip back inside the walls. We get asked to pray with the men on many occasions and prayer for a poly is high on the request list.
Today was no different, his anxiety was starting to build and it was time again to remind him that as long as he told the truth he didn’t have to worry, and in prayer we asked Jesus to go along and calm his fears. After we prayed, he started to talk about how he felt calm and how thankful he was. At this point he remembered what his mother would tell him when he was a kid.
“When you start to worry, pray and count your blessings.
Start a list of things to be thankful for and worry will fade.”
She compared it to the sun as the blessing, the sun is much larger that the earth in comparison, but if you take a quarter that represents worry and is extremely small in comparison to the earth or the sun and put it close enough to your eye it will completely block out the sun. A little worry will stop us from seeing all the blessings we encounter each day.
As a parent it is great to hear words of appreciation and gratitude from our kids. Let us not forget that we are God’s kids and as our Father he longs to hear from us when we give Him credit for all He does for us minute by minute. When we concentrate on how He takes care of us and how He is in control worry seems to loosen its grip.
To God be the Glory,
Jeff Haverhals

Still Gotta Do Maintenance
Still Gotta Do Maintenance
So, even though we are trying to raise the funds for a new building...we still have to do proper maintenance of our current buildings where our guys currently live.
This week we had to pull out the carpets in 2 of our apartments because they were very old, dirty and gross! We will be replacing them with vinyl tiles, which not only look 1,000 times better, they are more durable and will last much longer! So, even though it stings a little to have to spend the money...it really will be much better in the long run! If you would ever like to donate to our ministry, either towards the general, day-to-day operational costs...or towards our new building project...please contact us with any questions! Or, just click here! |

Are you aware...76% of ALL former inmates in the U.S. return to prison within 5 years?!
Are you aware...the number of WOMEN being incarcerated just in South Dakota has increased by 4,757%
since 1980?! (That's 476 women today, for every 1 woman in 1979 and before!)
Are you aware...the likelihood of a CHILD being incarcerated when they grow up
is 82% higher if just ONE parent has been incarcerated?!
Are you aware...25% of ALL CHILDREN with an incarcerated parent drop out of high school?!
The need is real.
The numbers shocking.
The problem overwhelming.
The answer is NOT more rules/harsher punishment.
That obviously doesn't work.
What DOES?
Only the TRUTH of the love, forgiveness & grace of Jesus & the Cross, to rescue, heal & restore ALL of humanity back to our original intended position as deeply loved children of God!
When we believe our TRUE identity as God sees us, habits & behaviors naturally readjust & come into alignment with healthy, wise living.
So, let me tell you one more statistic...and I believe it's the most important one:
Are you aware...200 people get released from the Sioux Falls prison EACH MONTH?!
Are you aware...4,000 people are released from the 6 prisons in South Dakota EVERY YEAR?!
Are you aware...$50 is all that most people have to survive off of when they're released from prison?!
Are you aware...$1,500 is the typical average monthly cost of living for someone after prison?!
Are you aware...1 set of clothing (shirt, pants, underwear, socks, shoes)
is all a person has when released from prison?!
Are you aware...when a person is released from prison, they have 0 basic needs
(toilet paper, toothbrush/paste, soap, shampoo, razor, etc...)?!

When we believe our TRUE identity as God sees us, habits & behaviors naturally readjust & come into alignment with healthy, wise living.
So, let me tell you one more statistic...and I believe it's the most important one:
100% of the residents that come to stay at Kingdom Boundaries Prison Aftercare Ministry when they are released from prison WILL hear the Gospel (good news) of what Jesus has done for them and how they can start seeking His help to turn their lives around for good!
That's right! At Kingdom Boundaries, we present the Gospel of Jesus to EVERY resident that comes to live with us. What they decide to do with that is up to them, of course.
But here's the truth...even though you probably won't hear this anywhere else (certainly not on the news!):
Without learning to trust Jesus & lean on Him for help, a person MIGHT do ok. (Statistics show over 76% of people go back to prison, so obviously trying to do it on their own DOESN’T work well.) But we CAN guarantee with Jesus’ help they WILL be successful. If you’re humble & surrender YOUR will to His, He will ALWAYS help you! That’s a fact! The only people who are not willing to acknowledge this fact, are the ones who are unwilling to consider there really is a God who knows more than them. They don't want to consider He is real, because then they would also have to admit He is in charge...and their pride and selfishness is too great a hurdle for them to overcome. But the TRUTH is that God loves them unconditionally! And the ONLY reason He ever tells someone what to do or not do is because His great Love for them is trying to protect them and provide the best possible life for them...which is ultimately only going to be found and acquired within an intimate relationship with Him!
Argue, resist, deny & fight against God’s wisdom all you want, but TRUTH is available (if you're humble enough to open your eyes & receive it.)
The TRUTH of God's love, wisdom, goodness & authority is not something to be mandated or forced upon a person. (History proves time & again that method doesn't work.) It is up to each of us as individuals to either ACCEPT TRUTH by faith even if we don't understand it (that’s why it’s called faith), or REJECT it.
YOU get to decide.
But WHY would you WANT to reject TRUTH?! Why CHOOSE to be deceived?! When it comes to something as eternally important as GOD, if you’re deceived about this 1 thing, how could you trust ANYTHING you think you know about Him?
Just as TRUE as God’s willingness to forgive/restore people with a repentant heart, is His desire to express that forgiveness THRU His other children: you & me! (It’s in the Bible everywhere!)
We must ask, “AM I WILLING TO…?”
“Am I willing to SHOW forgiveness (like I received) to people I don’t like due to their background/behavior/lifestyle/etc?”
“Am I willing to OVERLOOK surface-level issues they struggle with & help them make deep, long-lasting changes?”
“Am I willing to REMEMBER they’re NOT evil/ugly/undeserving of love…they’re someone’s child/sibling/parent/spouse/family/friend & NEED love just like I do?”
“Am I willing to RECOGNIZE their bad decisions may have been influenced by an uncaring, unhealthy environment?”
“Am I willing to GIVE kindness to those who don’t deserve it, since I didn’t either?”
“Am I willing to STOP ignoring the problem, turning a blind eye when their actions PROVE they NEED a friend who cares?”
“Am I willing to START being that friend & pull them out of the pit of destructive choices?”
“Am I willing to RISK ‘getting taken advantage of’ by some, in order to help MANY who sincerely want to change?”
“Am I willing to SPEND my time/money/energy/talent/life to help those REJECTED by society learn they are LOVED by God?”

Forgiveness isn’t for perfect people.
Perfect people don’t need to be forgiven.
Jesus was/is the ONLY COMPLETELY PERFECT human being who’s ever lived.
And He willingly chose to give His PERFECT lifeblood as an ‘EQUAL exchange’ for the sin/wrongs/failures/mistakes/bad choices/evil of the ENTIRE human race.
His forgiveness is for ALL of us.
Every imperfect person can be ‘made perfect’ by receiving His gift of forgiveness;
a mind-boggling, over-the-top gesture of unfathomable kindness, and scandalous mercy.
Everyone.
Yes, even the person who wronged you.
// Even the ones who repeatedly continue to make foolish mistakes.
// Even the ones who know better yet continue to #$@% up their relationships.
// Even the ones who are entirely selfish to their core
and seem incapable of putting anybody’s interests above their own.
// Even the ones who reek of corruption and tarnish everything they touch.
// Even the one who lied to you.
// Even the one who stole from you.
// Even the one who raped you.
// Even the one who murdered you.
// Even the one who promised to love and care for you, but then abandoned you…and your children.
// Even the ones who can’t get the bottle off their lips,
the needle out of their arm,
their mind out of the gutter,
their butt out of their own bed,
themselves out of the wrong bed.
// Even the ones who have done awful, horrific, life-altering acts of evil
and unquestionably do not deserve to be forgiven.
// Even the one you probably find it MOST difficult to forgive: Yourself.
Yes, Jesus chose to DIE so that even all of them could be forgiven, too.
We can’t go back and change this fact.
History has forever recorded HIS STORY of reckless love for wretched people…and that’s ALL of us.
The deed is already done.
It is FINISHED.
He already went to the Cross.
He already went to the grave.
He already rose from the dead.
Both you, and every scumbag who has ever hurt you…or ever will…are ALREADY FORGIVEN.
"He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all—our sins, our stained soul—He deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto His cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation.” – Colossians 2:14 (TPT)
“Yet through His powerful declaration of acquittal, God freely gives away His righteousness. His gift of love and favor now cascades over us, all because Jesus, the Anointed One, has liberated us from the guilt, punishment, and power of sin!” – Romans 3:24 (TPT)
As soon as you, me (and everyone else) learns this too-good-to-be-true-yet-shockingly-is news…and we finally RECEIVE the gift of ‘perfection-inducing forgiveness’ Jesus ALREADY gave us…we can start living a whole new life! The gift is sitting there on the table…waiting to be opened.
So, open it.
Enjoy the peace and hope His forgiveness offers you!
And after you do…humble yourself enough to realize the BEST and HIGHEST quality of freedom your heart will EVER experience will come to YOU when you allow the ‘unforgivable ones’ to also be shown the SAME forgiveness Jesus died to give to THEM, too!
“But instead be kind and affectionate toward one another. Has God graciously forgiven you? Then graciously forgive one another in the depths of Christ’s love.” – Ephesians 4:32 (TPT)
What they did may have been truly vile…undeniably sick. Letting go of the bitterness, hate, and unforgiveness “they so deserve” is NOT in ANY way condoning their actions or putting your stamp of approval on them. Instead, it is recognizing that the love of an ALL-forgiving God is SO MUCH MORE powerful and *incomprehensible (*meaning, we can’t possibly understand it!) than the worst evils committed by any human(s).
Let me say it another way: Forgiveness is NOT saying the awful actions of a villainous sleazebag are a ‘small thing’. On the contrary, forgiveness says that God’s overwhelming, unconditional, never-ending Love is SO magnificently HUMONGOUS it utterly dwarfs every sin that ever tries to raise its puny fist in defiance. Like the proverbial ant hurling insults at an elephant. It’s just laughable.
Each one of us can exchange our guilt-ridden, blood-stained, shame-wrapped M.O. for a perfectly cleansed, restored and unstained identity as a beloved son or daughter of the King!
It has NOTHING to do with our worth or our level of ‘deservedness’, and EVERYTHING to do with God’s Love being poured out like a waterfall on ‘unlovely’ people--which is beyond our comprehension.
Am I saying that because of Jesus, ALL of humanity is ‘universally saved’ and going to Heaven?
NO. Absolutely not!
Jesus IS Savior. Period.
But not all will acknowledge Him as such, and therefore they will not be able to receive the salvation He offers them. That’s THEIR choice, not His.
However, the price of the sin-debt for EVERY person has ALREADY been paid for in FULL.
“For I will demonstrate My mercy to them and will forgive their evil deeds,
and never remember again their sins.” – Hebrews 8:12 (TPT)
"Farther than from a sunrise to a sunset—that’s how far
You’ve removed our guilt from us.” – Psalms 103:12 (TPT)
So, yes, what Jesus did at the Cross and through His resurrection from the dead made it POSSIBLE for anyone and everyone to be completely saved. Unfortunately, many people will still choose to reject His kindness, generosity, and love. In that case, even though the opportunity of forgiveness and salvation is AVAILABLE for everyone…not everyone will enjoy the benefits of them. Some due to ignorance. Some due to pride.
DON’T be one of those people.
And don’t assume that someone else is one of those people either.
You never know which of the hardest hearts will melt into a puddle when it comes face-to-face with the love, mercy, and forgiveness of God! I for one, would rather choose to be a ‘puddle hunter’, than write someone off simply due to their crusty outer shell.
Having said ALL OF THAT…when I myself fell the farthest, hit the hardest, landed square on the bullseye of the ‘shame & condemnation’ target, was at my lowest, and was most painfully aware of my heart’s aching need for any hint, scrape, or whisper of hope…that’s when the reality of Jesus’ love and forgiveness finally sunk in. I was raised going to church my whole life and had even gone into full-time ministry myself. Yet it wasn’t until I came face-to-face with my own sin and weakness that my NEED of a Savior became more than just an idea or a concept and became very real and tangible to me.
Fortunately, because of what I had been taught growing up, and the influence of God’s Spirit in my life, rather than hiding in shame when I faceplanted in sin, I humbled myself before God’s Throne of Mercy and Grace and found genuine help in the time of my greatest need! (Hebrews 4:14-16)
“God, give me mercy from Your fountain of forgiveness!
I know Your abundant love is enough to wash away my guilt.
Because Your compassion is so great, take away this shameful guilt of sin.
Forgive the full extent of my rebellious ways, and erase this deep stain on my conscience.”
– Psalms 51:1-2 (TPT)
“Then I finally admitted to You all my sins, refusing to hide them any longer.
I said, ‘My life-giving God, I will openly acknowledge my evil actions.’
And You forgave me! All at once the guilt of my sin washed away
and all my pain disappeared!” – Psalms 32:5 (TPT)
This is why I now want to see this same message of Jesus’ love and forgiveness be clearly expressed and presented to those who come out of prison. Did they do wrong at some point and need to be disciplined?
Yes. (But let’s be honest…who hasn’t?)
Does the guilt for their crime(s)—whatever it may be—automatically mean they are unlovable, unforgivable, unchangeable from now on, forever and ever?
NO!
“Let my passion for life be restored, tasting joy in every breakthrough You bring to me.
Hold me close to You with a willing spirit that obeys whatever You say.
Then I can SHOW OTHER GUILTY ONES how loving and merciful You are.
They will find their way back home to You, knowing that You will forgive them.”
– Psalms 51:12-13 (TPT)
The ‘recidivism rate’ is the tendency of a criminal to commit a crime again and get sent back to prison. Currently, 76% of ALL inmates in America go back to prison within 5 years after being released. I believe one of the reasons the national recidivism rate is so crazy high is because the people who need to be shown forgiveness the MOST, get rejected and despised by society and even their own family, ultimately being shown the LEAST amount of forgiveness! Thus, breaking down a person’s ability to find the hope and courage needed to rise above the mistakes of their past and the temptations that caused them to crash and burn in the first place. If all they’re hearing is that they are disgusting, perverted, losers who will never change, they’ll start to believe it. And so, they continue living with negative behavior patterns which only further confirms to everyone this is who they are.
At Kingdom Boundaries Prison Aftercare, we want to help people who have struggled to make good, healthy choices in the past, learn to see themselves as God sees them: a son or daughter whom He loves very much! ALL of the bad decisions of the past HAVE BEEN forgiven by Jesus, their sin completely removed from them by His blood…and they can be healed, restored, and made innocent again…IF they are willing to be humble and surrender to Him.
Does that mean every resident who comes through Kingdom Boundaries ministry is completely cured and never sins again by the time they are able to move out on their own?
Yes. Exactly that…
.
.
.
NO! Don’t be ridiculous! We sometimes have knuckleheads who don’t ever seem to learn anything and continually make dumb choices, getting in trouble constantly. Sometimes that even means going back to prison. It happened yesterday. :(
On the other hand, when someone recognizes the beauty and truth of God’s love for them, agreeing this is the key ‘missing ingredient’ they’ve been craving all along, and they are willing to repent (change their thinking) and accept the help being offered…THAT’S when great things start to happen, and we see lives literally change before our eyes!
But it’s NOT easy work. There are more people coming out of prison every week and we have such a limited capacity. We truly want to help more people than we can. So, for that reason, we are trying to raise the funds needed to build a bigger, better building which would allow us to increase our capacity to almost triple what it is now and offer more opportunities to our residents for their growth, health, and restoration.

Would you consider donating to Kingdom Boundaries to help us in our efforts to change the world one former inmate at a time?

As if You Were There!
As if You Were There!
We had a GREAT turnout and are so grateful to everyone who came out to be a part of that historic night!
NOTE: If you were NOT able to be there with us in person, you can still be a part of the event! We recorded it, so you can view it here now! Keep in mind, even if you are watching the recording at a later date, you can STILL worship and pray along with us...after all our All-Powerful, Amazing, Awesome God is not limited by time and space; He is the LORD of Time and Space!!!
AAAANNNDDD...if you want to get the FULL experience of what it was like being there, just set a fan in front of you on full blast while you watch the video! Then, after you're done watching the video, go make yourself a hot dog and a root beer float, and it will be like you were right there with us on July 31st!
Well...almost.

The Texans are Back!
The Texans are Back!
A student ministry from Texas blessed us again by
coming back to KB (they had come in 2019),
to do some more service projects, including repairing a roof, replacing a countertop and cabinet in one of the apartments, installing some new security cameras, replacing some windows that had been broken in a recent storm, doing some touch-up painting in various places around the ministry...and lots of other tasks!
They also did work on a few of
our friend's houses in town.

New on the DL!
New on the DL!
EVERY 16 year old is excited when they get their driver's license, right?! We can ALL relate to that.
OK, so allow me to add a little more context to this photo...
Imagine you're 16, about to turn 17...and you're being sent to prison. You barely had a chance to drive and enjoy the privilege and the freedom one feels with a new driver's license.
And then EVERYTHING'S taken away.
Now imagine 24 YEARS have gone by.
You are now 41...
And you get your driver's license back.
Do you think you're MORE excited now,
than you were at 16?
Yup.
___________________________
The reason for this post is 2-fold:
1. Celebrate with Ryan as he embarks on a whole new adventure of freedom & maturity!
2. Be on your guard! If you live in (or anywhere near) Sioux Falls, there is a very excited 16 year old kid driving way too fast on your street, his hair blowing wildly in the wind! But be alert! You won't immediately recognize him. He's wearing the costume of a 41 year old man whose grinning ear to ear...without hair. You have been warned.
If you would like to support our ministry as we help many more wonderful guys like Ryan here, or if you would like to know more about our ministry, you can find lots of information here on our website, or you can contact us directly!

"...a Heart that Responds..."
I love the way this popular verse reads in the Passion Translation!
You might be more familiar with it this way:
"Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God."

a Promise
a Promise
This is a PROMISE.
Unaffected by the selfish, sinful choices of your past, present or even your future, so stop listening to and believing the discouraging LIES that only burden you down further with shame! The only thing "required" of you (in order to receive the 'unbelievably good promises' in this verse) is to trust Him enough to let down your defenses so His love, forgiveness, healing, comfort, and every other form of kindness can penetrate the callouses sin has caused to cover your heart.
A hardened, calloused heart can't stop Him from loving you. Yet, because He loves you, He doesn't force Himself on you, but tenderly, patiently waits until you are ready.
It's time to be ready.
It's time to surrender.
It's time to open your heart...
...to the One who lovingly made you, inside and out, and knows every detail about every aspect of you.
It's time to let Him prove Himself to you "PERSONALLY and POWERFULLY", as this verse says, "restore you and make you stronger than ever."
It's time to ask God to be your Friend.
And when you do, He will become a better Friend than you could ever ask for or imagine.
If this encouraged you, PLEASE SHARE IT so it may bless someone else now, too!

We're in the new FACES of Sioux Falls magazine!
We're in the new FACES of Sioux Falls magazine!
Our ministry was featured in the brand new, first edition of the city's "FACES of Sioux Falls 2022" magazine, which highlights various businesses in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area. The printed version of the magazine will be mailed all over the city, and will be displayed in offices all over Sioux Falls, as well as, being mailed directly to many people's homes throughout the area.
What a great way to get some more publicity and awareness for Kingdom Boundaries; to have a photo and brief bio listed right alongside many other respected businesses in our city! Please pray the magazine--both the physical printed copies, and the digital version--will be put in front of many people and that more hearts would be softened to our cause and reach out to us to offer more financial support!
If you would like to see the full digital version of this new "FACES" magazine,
click on either photo above or this link here (and be sure to see page 34!)

Would you also be willing to SHARE this post, or at least the link to the digital magazine on YOUR social media to help us spread the cool news? Thank you for doing so, and for every other way that YOU bless, encourage and support all of US here at Kingdom Boundaries Prison Aftercare!

Pray for Kody!
Pray for Kody!
One of our guys, Kody, sittin' on the front porch listenin' to worship music by Grace Fallout!
(This photo was taken a couple days ago.)
Please pray for Kody!
He arrived at Kingdom Boundaries last week, and has been doing a great job looking for work and being responsible.
But, then yesterday afternoon he was thrown off his bike and broke his clavicle bone! He is obviously in a lot of pain, and may need surgery. We're not sure yet.
So, please keep him in your prayers!
Of course, it's NEVER easy when anyone is in an accident or gets injured for whatever reason. Then when you add the frustration of employment security, costs of medical procedures, etc...on top of the mental/emotional impact this puts on someone who has only very recently been incarcerated...and they are already dealing with all of the burdens of trying to pay various fines & fees, while jumping through all of the legal hoops required, in order to prove themselves obedient and trustworthy.
Needless to say, it's more than just the physical pain of a broken bone.
So, again, thank you for praying for Kody's swift and complete physical healing, his soul to find comfort, peace and hope, and for the job and finances to be more than enough AND to come as soon as possible.
If you would like to pray for any of our other residents, both current and former, you can find them listed here!
Also, if you would like to make a donation of any size to our ministry, you can do so here!

Roof Repairs!
When the storm came thru Sioux Falls, SD last week some shingles were blown off our roof.
Fortunately, one of our residents has experience
with roofing and was able to go up and do some repairs the next day.
Thanks Kris for all your hard work serving KB!

Something to Encourage You
from Timothy Bariteau
Something to Encourage You
from Timothy Bariteau
Here's Psalm 23:1-6 in 4 different translations for you to compare and chew on...
New King James Version:
1 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever."
The Passion Translation (*see 1st note below):
1 "Yahweh is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough.
2 He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace near the quiet brook of bliss.
3 That’s where he restores and revives my life. He opens before me the right path and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to his name.
4 Even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.
5 You become my delicious feast even when my enemies dare to fight. You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit; you give me all I can drink of you until my cup overflows.
6 So why would I fear the future? Only goodness and tender love pursue me all the days of my life. Then afterward, when my life is through, I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you!"
Amplified Version:
1 "The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want.
2 He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters.
3 He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord."
Holman Christian Standard Bible:
1 "The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack.
2 He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.
3 He renews my life; He leads me along the right paths for His name’s sake.
4 Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff—they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live."

Every 'Stone' is Precious!
by Timothy Bariteau
Every 'Stone' is Precious!
by Timothy Bariteau
We are KB! We provide a safe and secure, caring home for men transitioning out of prison and back into society after doing months, years or even decades behind bars.
Society may reject a person who has made mistakes in their past, treating them as an outcast, a pariah, a has been...assuming they will never change.
But we have SEEN people change!
We have SEEN lives turned around!
We have SEEN dignity restored & lives transformed!
We have SEEN families reunited & healed!
Of course, this will NEVER happen if we continue to dismiss someone, writing them off as a hopeless, worthless waste of time. (Which often is what happened to them as children, leading them down the wrong path in the first place!)
Because the TRUTH is that even though WE may not like a person because of what they've done...
Even though they may wear a tough mask and an unpleasant facade...
Even though they may have a rock-hard personality and a stony heart, embittered by rejection and mistreatment for years...
God says that EVERY human heart is valuable, like a precious stone!
So, just because WE may not recognize someone's worth does not mean God doesn't see them with eyes of compassion, forgiveness, and love! After all, NOBODY deserved what Jesus did for ALL of us at the Cross! But He still endured it because He saw the treasures hidden deep within EVERY human heart!
EVERY 'stone' is precious to Him!
Instead of ignoring and disregarding former criminals, by loving them no matter what choices or failures they've made, and communicating to them the message that God sees GREAT VALUE in them, like a hidden treasure--and so do we--hearts can be healed, leading to more wisdom in decision making because they began to realize their True worth!
But, we can only do so much with the limited resources we have. We can't reach as many people coming out of the prison systems as we would like.
We need YOUR help!
Please contact us for more information on our ministry and how you can help!
Thank you and God bless!

Prisons Hold God's Treasures
Prisons Hold God's Treasures
It was late and I was tired, wanting to go to sleep, but God wanted to talk; it was about midnight, but it dawned on me that God does not sleep. His question made me restless. “Bill, where on earth does man keep his most priceless treasures and valuables?” I said, “Lord, usually these treasures like gold, silver, diamonds and precious jewels are kept locked up somewhere out of sight, usually with guards and security to keep them under lock and key.” God spoke, “Like man, My most valuable treasures on earth are also locked up.” I then saw Jesus standing in front of seemingly thousands of prisons and jails. The Lord said, “These have almost been destroyed by the enemy, but these ones have the greatest potential to be used and to bring forth glory to My name. Tell My people, I am going this hour to the prisons to activate the gifts and callings that lie dormant in these lives that were given before the foundation of the earth. Out from these walls will come forth an Army of Spirituals, who will have power to literally kick down the gates of hell and overcome satanic powers that are holding many of My own people bound in My own house.
“Tell My people that great treasure is behind these walls, in these forgotten vessels. My people must come forth and touch these ones, for a mighty anointing will be unleashed upon these for future victory in My Kingdom. THEY MUST BE RESTORED.”
I then saw the Lord step up to the prison doors with a key. One key fit every lock and the gates began to open. I then heard and saw great explosions, which sounded like dynamite going off behind the walls. It sounded like all-out spiritual warfare. Jesus turned and said, “Tell My people to go in now and pick up the spoil and rescue these.” Jesus then began walking in and touching inmates who were thronging Him. Many being touched instantly began to have a golden glow come over them. God spoke to me, “THERE’S THE GOLD!” Others had a silver glow around them. God said, “THERE’S THE SILVER!”
Like slow motion, they began to grow into what appeared to be giant knights in armor-like warriors. They had on the entire armor of God and every piece was solid and pure gold! Even golden shields! When I saw the golden shields, I heard God say to theses warriors: “Now go and take what satan has taught you and use it against him. Go and pull down the strongholds coming against MY Church.” The spiritual giants then started stepping over the prison walls with no one to resist them, and they went immediately to the very front line of the battle with the enemy. I saw them walk right past the church; and big-name ministers known for their power with God were surpassed by the giant warriors, like David going after Goliath! They crossed the enemy’s line and started delivering many of God’s people from the clutches of satan while demons trembled and fled out of sight at their presence. No one, not even the church, seemed to know who these spiritual giants were or where they came from. All you could see was the armor, the golden armor of God, from head to foot, and the shields of gold were there. The shields were restored to God’s House and there was great victory and rejoicing.
I also saw silver, precious treasures, and vessels being brought in. Beneath the gold and silver were the people that nobody knew: REJECTS OF SOCIETY, STREET PEOPLE, THE OUTCASTS, THE POOR and THE DESPISED. These were the treasures that were missing from His house.
In closing, the Lord said, “If My people want to know where they are needed, tell them they are needed in the STREETS, the HOSPITALS, the MISSIONS, and PRISONS. When they come there, they will find Me and the next move of My Spirit, and they will be judged by My Word in Matthew 25:42-43: ‘For I was hungry and you gave Me no meat, I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink, I was a stranger and you took Me not in, naked, and you clothed Me not, sick, and in prison, and you visited Me not.’ ”
--------------------------
Hopefully, this prophecy gives you a little better idea of God's perspective of people whom society has put in prison/jail. He sees them very differently than we do. The question we must ask ourselves is, "Who is right? Him? Or us?"
The above prophecy was written by Bill Yount and was later included at the back of Katie Souza’s first book, The Key to Your Expected End, along with the following note to those who just finished reading her book...
"Dearest Reader:
I first read this prophecy while I was still in prison. When I did, an explosion went off inside of me! Since then, the Lord told me that the ONE KEY Jesus uses to open up every prison door is THE EXPECTED END! It is what He will use to raise up a Kingdom Army from inside the walls! In March 2007, a personal word of prophecy was given to me: I WAS TOLD TO HAVE AN ARMY!!! Each one of you [who has read her book] is a part of this Army! Together we will take the world for Christ!!!
In His service,
Katie Souza"
*NOTE: Katie's books are excellent, for ANYONE (not just inmates, even though that was her original targeted audience)!

Meet our Mascot!
Meet our Mascot!
This is Diesel. He is the (un)Official mascot at Kingdom Boundaries.
He sits weird.
But, we love him. And he is a great comfort and encouragement to many of the men who come out of prison after years without getting to have a pet or any interaction with animals.
Interesting, isn't it? God gave the very first man ever created, Adam, the responsibility of naming the animals. It would make sense that Adam enjoyed getting to know and have some sort of relationship with those animals, too, since we humans are such relational beings. So, when a person is sent to prison and are then denied the simple pleasure of an animal friend, how rewarding it must be to have that once again! This is just another thing we take for granted, not realizing the huge impact on a person who has been incarcerated for any length of time.
Consider how many people go to prison and...in addition to having to leave family behind (spouse, children, parents, siblings, etc.), also have to leave a beloved pet behind, most likely to never see them again, since the pets often don't outlive the prison sentence.
How wonderful it is then, that when men get out of the prison and come to Kingdom Boundaries, they get to once again have a friendly, furry face wanting to show them some love and attention every day! A 'non-judgmental', 'I-couldn't-care-less-about-your-past' friend who doesn't want anything more than to sit on your lap and be loved!
Ok, well...that's not ENTIRELY accurate. I guess, in the light of full disclosure, I should probably warn you...in case YOU ever come to visit us here at KB...
Diesel IS going to want something from you: LOTS of petting, scratching, rubbing, hugging, and also ANY food you might have on you!
But, aside from that he'll be your friend, no questions asked!
And there are also a lot of great men here at Kingdom Boundaries, who need and would love to have a friendship with you, if you were willing to come for a visit. They probably wouldn't mind if you wanted to bring food, either! (But, we promise, no belly rubs!)
If you'd like more information about what we are doing for men who come out of prison, and/or would like to know how you can get involved, CONTACT US, visit our GET INVOLVED page, or make a DONATION to help us financially!

When was the last time YOU went grocery shopping?!
When was the last time YOU went grocery shopping?!
First time getting to buy your own groceries in 7 years!
Hard to put a value on that.
It goes WAY BEYOND the cost of food, the impact of healthy, nutritional options, or the convenience and freedom of making your own meals. It brings a sense of value and empowerment back to a person who's identity has been crushed by the labels put on them by society and a system that doesn't view them as a person.
The simple act of shopping for your own food, can be another step in the restoration process for someone who has had their dignity stolen, as it gives them some responsibility again. It gives them back the ability to begin making some simple choices. That's huge.
If you would like to be a part of doing that for men and women coming out of prison CONTACT US, visit our GET INVOLVED page, or make a DONATION to help us financially!

"Kingdom Boundaries was monumental in my transition back into the community. They provided a safe Christian based environment for me to live and grow in. They also helped me rapidly find employment, provided transportation, and helped communicate with my counselors and parole officer. The adjustment is difficult for all parolees but Kingdom Boundaries assisted in alleviating much of the stress associated with it. I'm grateful and blessed for Kingdom Boundaries."

"After spending 19 years in prison, this ministry came along side me and provided the environment needed to readjust to society. Their love and accountability encouraged me to succeed in the transition process from prison to the street. The transition went so well, that I am now able to help others like myself see the dreams of freedom and a new life turn into reality. The power of Jesus Christ to transform people is clearly evident in this place of grace, mercy and love."

Remember that...
Remember that...
Oh...and also people who went to church in prison,
but then left their Bibles there when they got out.
Yup.
He died for them, too.
*NOTE: Please pray for us at Kingdom Boundaries,
as we try to help men make better choices
than they used to...
starting with choosing Jesus first!

Don't Forget...
Don't Forget...
Remember: If you are a born again Christian...
You are NOT your sin!
You ARE righteous (in right standing with God)
because of what Jesus did!
Start living like who you ARE,
not what you FEEL like!

"Tend an orchard and you’ll have fruit to eat. Serve the Master’s interests and you’ll receive honor that’s sweet." -- Proverbs 27:18 (TPT)
You know what else is sweet? Cheesecake!
This photo is of a great guy called Pops.
He is very kind and funny with everyone he meets. He is almost completely blind.
And he is a resident at Kingdom Boundaries Aftercare.
Pops loves to bake things (pies, puddings, all kinds of foods and desserts!) But, especially cheesecake. Anytime we are having an event, meeting or fundraiser...if food is involved, Pops makes a bunch of cheesecakes for us! And they're GOOD!
The other day he came over to the office and said to me, "I just got back from the sto' gettin' some 'gredients to make me some thing. Did you know they have CHOCOLATE cheesecake?! I never heard such a thing! [*Editors note: He was in prison for 17 years.] I got me some of that chocolate cheesecake. I'ma gonna make it and then we'll see how it taste."
Sure enough, the next day he brought over his chocolate cheesecake and asked me to try a piece. Wow.
(He also makes cherry, strawberry, vanilla, and vanilla with chocolate pieces...just to name a few.)
If YOU live anywhere near the Sioux Falls area and would like to purchase a cheesecake as a donation
to Kingdom Boundaries Building Fund, let us know! (I know Pops would be very excited to make some for you!)
You can contact us anytime for more information, or to place an order for a delicious cheesecake!

"This place is a great benefit to the community. It takes pride in helping men reintegration and walks beside them with Christian Character."

"I am so grateful for this opportunity to encourage anyone who has a relative who will be paroled soon, or people looking for a ministry you can trust, to invest your hard earned money into.
God bless everyone who owns a dwelling place that allows someone making the transition from prison back into society, to have a roof over their head! Not all transitional houses are created equal. I have a relative living at Kingdom Boundaries currently, so I offer the perspective of someone with first hand experience.
Many things are needed in order for someone on parole to not continue living their lives making destructive decisions. Please go to www.KingdomBoundaries.org and acquaint yourself with what they are committed to doing.
It is a place where strangers are welcome and the love of God is offered. The ministry is effective in making a difference in people’s lives, because they aren’t satisfied with merely providing housing. I assume every halfway house has rules, such as curfews. But the boundaries and multifaceted education at KB opens doors for the men, and has the potential to radically transform their lives.
After years of experience mentoring men, Kingdom Boundaries has the desire to stretch out their tent pegs. At the website you can learn about the desire the ministry has to build a building that would house more men and for the first time, accommodate women as well. Society has a lot of needs. By financially and prayerfully supporting KB, donors become invisible partners. I can’t be there, but I can contribute so that God can become more valuable to these men than what captivated them before. Complaining about crime isn’t effective. Kingdom Boundaries has proven what they are capable of doing. Please consider supporting them, too."

"I work as a volunteer at one of the prisons from which released men find there way to KB. KB is a very essential step for many men to get reintegrated into society. Some men have been in prison for only a short time, others for decades. Many have been in prison multiple times. It is a shock to get out of prison and back into society. Very often these men are alien to there families, they have little to no money, and before they went to prison had problems. KB provides guidance and assistance concerning finances & housing, Christian based counseling and accountability is provided by people who understand and care. KB plays an important role in men getting their walk right before God and men."

Kids Need Their Dads...
Kids Need Their Dads...
"Those who are servants, submit to the authority of those who are your masters—not only to those who are kind and gentle but even to those who are hard and difficult." -- 1 Peter 2:18 (TPT)
Some people who come out of prison have to do a lot of things that seem ridiculous, just so they can spend time with their own children.
• Pray for these men (and women) as they jump through all the required hoops.
• Pray they demonstrate trustworthiness in the areas they have not been successful before.
• Pray they find true healing and restoration, especially with their children,
but also with any other family relationships that have been broken.
• Pray they learn their TRUE identity as God sees them, and begin living as Kingdom men (and women)
who have a purpose and a destiny to fulfill.
Many of the residents that have come through Kingdom Boundaries have been in this situation...separated from their children and family.
To learn how YOU can be part of the solution and help us in our ministry to these families, contact us anytime!

"I got to Kingdom Boundries 2 weeks ago (03-15-22), after a little over 5.5 years in prison. The first thing you feel is love from the staff, the guests and the board members, a sense of I'm in good in hands. Kingdom Boundries' other half if you will, Freedoms Gate Church, make sure the residents and those affiliated walk alongside us and give sound advice, teachings, life skills and accountability. Their re-entry ministry is one that needs to expand to be able to have more of an opportunity to reach the healing, protect the young and help men and women grow in Christ as they are welcomed back home."

"Jeff and Rhonda Haverhals do a wonderful job of leading this ministry. Kingdom Boundaries is a prison after care program that helps inmates to be successfully reintroduced into society. They offer great Spiritual help and support the inmate in finding a job and taking care of some of their physical needs such as a place to stay and a few other necessities. They are a Christ centered and biblically based ministry."

"Kingdom Boundaries is doing a fantastic job with the men who go through their program. Many have joined Freedom's Gate Church and are very active there. Others have found other Churches to join and be part of. They just need a bigger place to help with more men and also a place for women."

"We’ve been on the board at KB about 3 years. We have seen God work in many ways for KB but more importantly in the lives of many men. We count it a privilege to be involved with this ministry."

"I have been on the board for Kingdom Boundaries now for about 3 years . But that is not where my association with K.B. starts. About 8 years ago I was released from prison and was one of the first in the housing of K.B. I have been privileged to not only receive the help I needed to get back into society , but also to help promote K.B. by telling my story in churches and even on the radio. Most of all I have been privileged also to help other men when they came out of prison."

Safe and Secure
Safe and Secure
"When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own house,
his belongings are undisturbed and secure." -- Luke 11:21 (AMP)
Ok, so we don't have a bunch of weapons here at Kingdom Boundaries, but our facility is actually VERY SECURE! We have security locks on ALL the doors, so a person WITHOUT the correct keys can ONLY go out, and not come in. If someone exits without using a security key, an alarm immediately goes off, alerting everyone a door was opened. And when someone does use their key to enter/exit our facility,
all of those 'door times' are automatically logged into the system.
This photo is of one of our residents helping feed a Cat5 cable thru the floor to a staff member, who is setting up yet ANOTHER security monitor in an office, to be able to view the video feed from over 30 security cameras were have here around the facility, both inside and outside the buildings!
Bottom line: our staff, any guests, and all of our residents (as well as, all of their belongings)
are safe and secure while they stay at KB!
To learn more about our ministry to men who are transitioning from prison back into society,
and how YOU CAN HELP...contact us here anytime!

Will Work for Food
Will Work for Food
The Apostle Paul once wrote: "For when we were with you we instructed you with these words: “Anyone who does not want to work for a living should go hungry.”
-- 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (TPT)
Well, at Kingdom Boundaries we don't want men to go hungry, so we help them find employment. Here is a KB staff member, Tim Wendt, helping one of our new residents navigate an online application last week. If YOU have ever felt confused by technology, consider this: For people who have spent years in and out of jail/prison, learning how to use computers and websites is completely foreign, because they haven't had access to these things!
By the way, later that same day, the guy sitting down in this picture, Shane,
got a call for an interview...and the next day he got the job!
If you would like to know more about what we are doing for men who are transitioning out of prison and back into life in society, and how YOU CAN HELP...contact us here anytime!
